West & Wales Meeting - Bristol - 22/06/17
West & Wales Region Meeting -
On Thursday, 22nd June, IFT's West & Wales Region will be holding a lunchtime session on 'Care Homes'. The presentations will discuss key legal and regulatory risks and solutions, and operational change in the care homes sector.
For years, the care home sector has borne the brunt of funding cuts (local authority funding has fallen by 31% in real terms over the past 5 years) and more recently of raising labour costs (National Living Wage applies to a significant proportion of care home staff) and uncertainty over the free movement of EU labour (7% of care homes workforce is EU – not British). The headlines talk of terminal crisis. Based on real examples, the presentations will focus on the legal and operational challenges facing operators and their advisors to deliver a viable and successful business, and will explore the available options in a distressed situation.
- Alastair Lomax – TLT LLP
- Kevin Groombridge - Executive Chairman – Healthcare Management Solutions
We look forward to hearing some differing perspectives and case studies on the sector from a turnaround advisor and a care home operative.
