Alan Lovell is a chartered accountant and Chairman of Tamar Energy – the renewable energy business. He also holds non-executive roles at Low Carbon, Progressive Energy and TidalStream, all of which are green energy businesses.
He is former Chief Executive of Infinis, the UK renewable energy developer backed by private equity house Terra Firma.
For fifteen years from 1990 to 2006 Alan was involved in very challenging rescue and turnaround situations, including spells as Chief Executive of Costain and Jarvis. He then established and ran the UK’s second largest generator of renewable energy.
Alan is a member of Lloyd’s Council, and non-executive Director of its Members’ Agency.
He holds an MA from Oxford, and his French and German language skills are ‘tolerable’.
