ABOUT MEMBER

Andy advises Sandton Capital Partners in the UK, supporting its growth and offering transactional support across the Midlands, North and Scotland.

He joined Lloyds Bank in the early eighties and has enjoyed a varied career dominated by his involvement with the SME, Mid Corp and Global corporate sectors.

During this time Andrew has been involved in pioneering a number of initiatives with Mid Market businesses in particular. He co-developed and delivered the Banks Business Strategy offering to a broad range of portfolio clients, acting as a quasi Non Exec offering strategic insight particularly during periods of significant change.

Immediately before becoming involved with Lloyds Banking’s turnaround business in early 2009, he led their leveraged business throughout the North East for eight years delivering debt solutions for numerous, typically Private Equity backed, Management Buy-Outs or changes in ownership.

He then was appointed as a Subject Matter Expert in Banking, supporting Sir William Blackburn’s assessment of RBS’s GRG remediation programme. The role focused on providing business banking and restructuring expertise to help inform Customer outcomes.

Initially Midlands based his career has encompassed spells in the City, and latterly Yorkshire where he led the LBG’s Large Corporate Business Support teams across the North and Scotland until June 2017. Currently his time is split between London, the Midlands & North, including Scotland.

He currently acts as Sandton’s senior advisor in the UK, assisting in sourcing and assessing opportunities in addition to setting strategic direction and supporting various portfolio businesses in a Non-Exec capacity.

Having worked in leverage, mainstream and turnaround funding and brings a broad range of skills and stakeholder management.
