Ken Baird is a partner in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP’s restructuring and insolvency practice. He specialises in complex restructurings, on both debtor and creditor side, often with a cross-border flavour.

Recent experience includes advising: The administrators of Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander PLC; Woolworths on a number of rescue options prior to its administration and subsequently on the administration of the wholesale business; International News & Media on its restructuring; Anglo Irish Bank on the restructuring of the Quinn Group; Polestar on its restructuring and acquisition by Sun Capital and working for the special restructuring committee on Bulgarian Telecom.

Ken co-authored a chapter in Tolley’s Insolvency Law. He was educated at the University of Glasgow, and is a qualified solicitor in England and Scotland.
