ABOUT MEMBER

Obi has over 20 years’ board level experience leading transformational change and recovery helping under-performing organisations in the private sector and the NHS to deliver sustainable improvements. He combines a strategic view with a pragmatic ‘doing’ approach using coaching and mentoring to develop the leadership capability of individuals and teams he works with.

His roles include Financial Improvement Programme Director, Transformation Director, Turnaround Director, Chief Executive, Board advisor and Coach and Mentor. He brings a wealth of leadership skills in managing stakeholders to establish confidence in uncertain environments, influencing change at Board level and the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation to deliver results on the ground. In particular, he has the ability to gain the buy-in of clinicians and senior management to implement change programmes.

Obi has extensive experience in both the NHS and a broad spectrum of private sector companies. He has worked with 16 NHS Acute Hospital Trusts and 2 Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) on major change programmes including system-wide integrated care programme with the aim of creating an Integrated Care Organisation (ICO) across the health economy, efficiency and quality improvement programmes engaging closely with clinicians on integrated care models, re-designing clinical pathways that improve quality of care whilst delivering efficiencies, commissioning system-wide health economy reviews, and establishing collaborative system-wide working groups. In the private sector he has worked with 10 companies across 9 industries leading strategic and operational turnaround and financial restructuring to help improve performance.

Obi is a Deloitte qualified Chartered Accountant, member of the Institute for Turnaround and has an MBA from the London Business School.
