Chief Executive Officer 
The IFT is the leading membership group for individuals and businesses specialising in supporting organisations facing financial distress or the need for rapid transformation under difficult circumstances.  
A vacancy has arisen for an ambitious, capable individual to lead the business on behalf of the Membership reporting to a professional non-executive Board. The role would suit someone who would like to deploy well developed leadership skills in a not for profit organisation.  
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and will have experience of leading teams and businesses or business units. Prior involvement in the restructuring and turnaround industry is not essential but advantageous. Whilst an accounting qualification is not required the candidate should be financially literate. The role may also suit individuals with experience of operating at a senior level with a background in Communication/ PR or membership organisations. Previous experience of working in a regulated environment and/or working with regulators would be helpful.  
The IFT employs four executives, two working on Memberships (Corporate and Individual) and two delivering high quality, members events, as well as developing the marketing and communications aspects of the business.  
It is envisaged that this position is full time however part time would be considered for the right candidate. Full time salary circa £120,000 per year as agreed with the Chairman.  
Office based in London (Between Southwark and Elephant & Castle) with scope for working remotely. Travel to meetings across the UK is anticipated, including some during the evening.  
The Role  Working with the Chair and Board (reporting to the Chair) to develop the strategy to ensure IFT remains an engaged and vibrant community. Leading the operational executive team and outsourced functions to maintain a high quality of membership services for both Corporate Partners and Individual Members. Driving the annual business cycle including budgeting, planning and governance. Leading and project management of a strategic membership recruitment drive alongside the Membership Committee and the Board.  
Skills and Competencies Required Excellent communication skills towards a diverse membership and externally to the wider community, including the press.  First class time management and personal organisation.  Good emotional intelligence and positive attitude to working with colleagues and members by phone, email and face to face.  An ability to build strong and enduring relationships at pace. An interest in business disciplines and how these apply in a not for profit organisation. Passion for a profession that saves jobs and promotes a meritocratic culture.
