Whisky Tasting Social

WHISKY TASTING ONLINE SOCIAL EVENT

We are holding a virtual whisky tasting social at 6.30pm on Thursday 6 May, hosted by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS).

The event will be of interest to everyone whether you are a whisky “first timer”, a connoisseur, or anything in between and we will be assured of the very best quality and unique whiskies as SMWS only supply single cask, cask strength malts of which every one is different and rarely available other than to SMWS members.

The event will be hosted by John McCheyne, SMWS’ Master Brand Ambassador who has the enviable job of touring the world (in more normal times) talking about and supping the occasional whisky. He will talk us through a range of fine drams as well as telling us about the whisky-making process, and how to get the best out of the tasting process.

There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss and ask questions of John, or if you prefer just sit back and enjoy the tasting.

We have arranged a special discounted price for this event of £25 per person which includes a pack of five miniature bottles.

IFT National Conference 2021

MARKET REFRESH: Panel Discussion ‘After the Crash’

In our next Market Refresh event, we have an exciting panel discussion bringing together IFT members to talk about their experience of the 2008 crash. Our panellists will reflect upon and share their experiences of the last crash, and consider its effect on the market, trends since, and what this means in 2021.

The panel will include IFT Independent Members Nina Warwick and Ian Gray, and IFT Member Huw Dolphin of DLA Piper. The panel will be chaired by IFT Honorary Fellow, Duncan Parkes.

The IFT is pleased to announce the IFT Webinar Corporate insolvency and Governance Bill – Key changes and implications for turnaround on Friday 5th June at 8am.

The webinar will be chaired by Richard Obank – Brown Rudnick and will consist of a wider panel of Rob Lewis – PwC, Duncan Parkes independent IFT Fellow and Stuart Tait – Gateley. the panel will be discussing the key points of the bill and the implications the panel believe this bill will have on the turnaround market.

IFT AGM

The IFT Annual General Meeting is taking place on Tuesday 24th September at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, 65 Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 1HS.

The formal meeting will take place prior to a London and South Members’ meeting.

This year there are two (2) Directors standing-down by rotation, Graham Rusling and Brendan McGeever, and two (2) eligible to be re-elected for a second term, Steve Benger and Tony King.
